Tsunade has been felled in the battle, paralyzed by her crippling fear of blood. With her taken out of the equation, Jiraiya fights Orochimaru while Naruto and Shizune fight Kabuto, but because Tsunade drugged Jiraiya, he is unable to control his chakra, and is on an equal playing field with Orochimaru.
