Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
This complex melodrama takes place during the first decade of the Lebanese Civil War. In the story, a singer whose voice and career are on the rocks becomes friends with a divorced woman who works at a pro-Palestinian newspaper. Her woman-friend makes many male friends, including an Algerian lad who also works at the newspaper. In the chaos of the war, the singer loses many friends and acquaintances, but finally appears to be finding her voice again.
