Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

A lonely forty one year old still living with his mother in the middle of nowhere sets off for Romania in search of a wife in director Hans Steinbichler homespun romantic comedy. Erwin (Matthias Brandt) may not be a boy anymore - in fact he's pushing middle age - and he sees no shame in the fact that he still lives with his mother (Monica Bleibtreu) in the Bavarian countryside, where they run a small gas station. Over the years, Erwin and Mama have fallen into a classic co-dependent relationship: she feeds her son while overlooking his many quirks, and he, in turn, gives her a reason to go on living. Over the years, Erwin has been content to pass the time talking with Mama or tending to his fish, though lately he's begun to feel somewhat unfulfilled. Traveling to Romania in search of a wife, Erwin has the good fortune of meeting Irina (Maria Popistasu), an irresistible beauty who is at once mischievous, forthright, and undeniably sexy. After suggesting a trial engagement, Erwin brings Irina back to Bavaria and introduces her to mother. At first mother is not impressed, though despite the fact that the two women start out in opposite corners, they gradually begin to find a common ground.
