Synopsis by Maggie Sadler
After being charged with the murder of his wife, Simon (Elias Koteas) shoulders his sentence to death row, prompting his daughter Lucy (Ellen Page) to grow into a staunch opponent of the death penalty. While attending her father's trial, Lucy crosses paths with lawyer Mercy (Kate Mara), and despite the disparity in their political views, the two begin a cautious relationship.
