Synopsis by Clarke Fountain

This docudrama was filmed as part of the celebrations for the 75th anniversary in 1986 of the founding of the Gremio Unido de Alijadores, the Mexican dockworker's union. In addition to retelling the story of the union's martyred founder Isauro Alfaro, the film celebrates the leadership of current leader Gerardo Gomez Castillo and tells a comic story about a couple of drunks who are protected from danger by the ghost of Alfaro. Speeches and lectures round out the mix.
