Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Not to be confused with John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men, Mice and Men began life as a Broadway play, written by Madeline Lucette Ryley. The film version starred Marguerite Clark as Peggy, who in Restoration-comedy fashion is "trained" from girlhood to be a perfect wife by her guardian-fiancee Mark Embury (Charles Waldron). Unfortunately, Embury's best laid schemes "gang aft-agley" when Peggy is introduced to her guardian's naval-officer nephew, Captain Lovell (Marshall Neilan). Finally realizing that a wife cannot be raised and cultivated like an orchid, Embury gives up Peggy to her younger, handsomer sweetheart.
