Synopsis by Mark Deming
Juan Osorio was one of the most successful producers in Mexican television when he met a beautiful dancer from Cuba named Niurka Marcos. Osorio was struck by her charms and her talent, and soon molded her into a major television star. Their relationship offscreen seemed every bit as successful as their working partnership -- the pair married in 2001, and were soon the proud parents of a son. But the true story was not as rosy as it appeared to their fans, as Niurka was spoiled by ego and ambition, Juan developed a serious problem with alcohol and drugs, and their marriage began to buckle under the strain. Mi Verdad is a docudrama look at the couple's roller coaster lives, with Raul Araiza and Liz Vega starring as Juan and Niurka.
