Synopsis by Farida Ezzat
Oscar-nominated filmmaker Fernando Trueba’s drama tells the story of a human rights activist named Héctor Abad Gómez (Javier Cámara) through the eyes of his son. The Colombian doctor embraces life with love despite the politically turbulent times in 1970s Medellin. After one of his daughters dies of cancer, Gómez dedicates all his energy and time to political causes. The film premiered at the 2020 Cannes Film Festival and co-stars Juan Pablo Urrego, Nicolás Reyes Cano, and Patricia Tamayo.
