Synopsis by Hal Erickson

This Argentine musical extravaganza offers tuneful samplings from virtually every country in Latin America, including Mexico, Cuba and Brazil. The minimalist storyline concerns a popular Mexican movie tenor who travels to Buenos Aires, there to marry a girl of great wealth. In truth, our hero's fiancé is merely a radio-contest winner who hasn't a centavo to her name. In a reversal of the usual cliché, love doesn't bloom between the boy and the girl, though both do manage to find true love in the arms of others. American actress June Marlowe (not the same person who played Miss Crabtree in the "Our Gang" comedies) repeats her standard characterization as a vain and vulgar Yankee tourist. The film's strong suit is its presentation of authentic South American songs and dances, filmed on location all over the Southern Hemisphere.
