Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Academy Award-winner Ben Kingsley narrates this look at the life of Chronicles of Narnia author C.S. Lewis, the writer many fiction fans site as the greatest Christian author of the 20th Century. Originally broadcast on public television, Chip Duncan's documentary opens by detailing Lewis' childhood in Northern Ireland, and the impact that losing his mother and witnessing the horrors of World War I had on shaping both his belief system. Later moving on to attend both Oxford and Cambridge Universities, Lewis entered into a close friendship with Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien, embraced Christianity after a life of atheism, and began a late-life romance with his beloved wife Joy. Extensive interviews with family members, friends, colleagues, Lewis scholars, and Oscar-nominated Shadowlands star Debra Winger provide fans with a remarkable look into the life of a true literary icon.
