The idea of a leather-clad, big-haired warrior on a sleek, black motorcycle carrying a samurai sword on the barren dunes of the future sounds genius enough, but beware, for The Final Executioner contains all the pitfalls of the cheap Italian post-apocalyptic flicks of this time with little of the gratuitous nature that the best of the bunch have been graced with. While the studded costumes might very well clock in high on the outrageousness scale, there isn't much else to rave about in the rest of its plodding 95-minute running time. A few sparse fight scenes and stunts shine thanks to the film's conventional Italian slo-mo action style, but even they cannot save this sloppy sibling of all of the post-Road Warrior knockoffs out there.
