Synopsis by Nathan Southern
Several couples and romance-seekers experience severe relationship dysfunction in a myriad of ways, in Love Connected, Patrick Kong's Cantonese-language ensemble drama. The events unfurl in a shopping mall in contemporary Hong Kong, where lives repeatedly intersect and intertwine. As a Machiavellian womanizer (Sammy Leung) juggles dates with four women over the course of one long day, two hapless dweebs (I Love You, Boyz) find themselves relentlessly manipulated by an overly forward young woman whom they meet online. Meanwhile, a deaf girl (Stephy Tang) hesitates before opening up to an eager young musician (Justin Lo); another couple (Joey Leung and Kay Tse) reel from a bitter break-up, with each partner attempting to make a fresh, clean start; and a cruel, manipulative tart (Chelsea Tong) puts an aspiring suitor on a three-month period of probation before committing to him.
