It is to the eternal credit of lead actor John Abbott and screenwriter Curt Siodmak that London Blackout Murders remains as engrossing as it is. The protagonist, after all, is a serial killer with a purpose: to rid the world of Nazi spies while indulging his own deadly predilection. Abbott and Siodmak, with some assistance, one would assume, from associate producer/director George Sherman, actually manage to make this bizarre plot not only palatable but downright moving at times. Chalk up London Blackout Murders as one of the era's better low-budget thrillers and worthy of renewed interest.
