Review by Hans J. Wollstein

Richard Talmadge was one of the best stunt men of his day and there are several eye-opening stunts in this otherwise badly directed and acted action-melodrama. Unfortunately, anyone who has seen Pirate Treasure, Talmadge's 1934 serial, will recognize most of the action, including scenes filmed at the harbor in San Pedro. Villain George Walsh was the brother of director Raoul Walsh and a major star in the silent era. By the early '30s, however, Walsh found work increasingly hard to come by and would spend the remainder of his career in obscure Poverty Row melodramas such as Live Wire.
