Synopsis by Janiss Garza

J. Warren Kerrigan stars in this lively comedy-drama. Since the death of his father, Neil Sparks (Kerrigan) has supposedly been in charge of the family oil interests. However, he pays more attention to prize fights and nightclubs than to business. His Aunt Helen (Mary Talbot) wants to see him married and settled down, and has practically forced the annoyingly persistent Bess Kinloch (Beth Ivins) into his arms. So when Sparks discovers some shady goings on in the oil fields, he suddenly decides to go down and investigate -- mostly to evade Bess' grasp. There he meets Myrtle Pratt (Fritzi Brunette), whose father was swindled by Hiram Craig (Roy Laidlaw) and Jacob Abbott (John Steppling). The same two men have laid a pipe from Sparks' rich lands to their own barren property. But Sparks outwits the crooks with the help of his butler (Clyde Benson), who pretends to be the young oilman. Sparks and Myrtle become engaged, which permanently keeps Bess far, far away.
