Timid waiter David (Daniel Brühl) claims credit for a brilliant manuscript he found in an old dresser in order to impress beautiful literature student Marie (Hannah Herzsprung). Meanwhile, as David becomes the darling of the German literary scene, the manuscript's true author (Henry Hubchen) turns up with a scheme of his own. Based on the novel by Martin Suter.
