An unhinged, ex-con hunter, a prehistoric reptile out for revenge, and a slippery gator-preneur with two rage monsters on his tail — inspired by events so ‘real,’ they could only happen in Florida. In the sweltering summer of 2003, Lake Jesup became the site of a real-life horror story. A massive, genetically oversized, bred-to-kill alligator named Bonecrusher escaped from Gator Galaxy — a glorified swamp circus masquerading as a tourist trap — and slithered into the most gator-infested lake in the United States. With over 13,000 toothy residents (400 per square mile, nearly 200 of them stretching over nine feet), the water quickly turned into a full-blown blood bath.
Locals started vanishing faster than sunscreen at spring break, but Angus Sullivan — the slimy park owner with a smile as crooked as his morals — shrugged off the carnage, dismissing it as "just a little local color" while lining his pockets with dirty dollars and downplaying the loss of limbs and lives.
Desperate to end the slaughter, Florida authorities made the only logical choice: they turned to Bubba Coggins, a beer-guzzling, refrigerator-sized ex-con and professional gator wrangler with a checkered past and a knack for kicking ass. His mission? Hunt and kill Bonecrusher to earn redemption ... and maybe impress his dead wife's BFF.
Armed with little more than some Flo-grown tats, a crossbow, and a skiff boat in tow, Bubba sets out to cement his legend status. Along the way, he uncovers a shocking truth: he and Bonecrusher share a common enemy — Angus Sullivan, the man whose shady business practices have ruined more lives than a hurricane in Daytona.
Now, in a race against time and an unstoppable killing machine, Bubba must wrestle his demons, outwit a vengeful apex predator, and decide just how far he's willing to go to save himself — and the citizens of Jesup City.
