Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

In a documentary study of the people of Tuscany, director Rosemarie Blank first filmed traditional activities in both the families and the communities of the region in the mid-1970s. Then Blank returned a decade later to interview many of the same people who were the focus of her earlier project. The objective was to study the effects of industrialization on the changing life of the region, and 10 years later the Tuscans have their own comments on the changes that have taken place. With good cinematography and an intriguing cultural milieu, this documentary will be of interest to the general viewer as well as the specialist.
