Stanislava Pesic plays a romantic young woman who vows not to have what she terms the "small-town mentality" of her parents. Her parents are members of the social elite and enjoy the benefits of money and political ties. Her fiancé once shared in her progressive ideals but has grown apart from his conviction with the passing of time. Although she aggressively tries to resist becoming like her parents, she inevitably becomes part of the crowd she held out from for so long.
