Synopsis by Hal Erickson

It's hard to tell from the vantage point of nine decades, but chances are that Tom Mix was one of the featured players in this Selig Western. Filmed entirely out-of-doors on the studio's California ranch, and utilizing the services of several real-life cowboys, the film at least had strong documentary value. The thinnish story line concerns a romance between the titular Jim and the daughter of a rival rancher. Things move along at a leisurely pace, culminating in a refined frontier wedding. The camerawork was particularly good, and indeed was used as the principal "selling angle" for the film.
