Synopsis by Mark Deming

In 1973, Jim Croce was just hitting his stride as a rising singer/songwriter, enjoying hits with the songs "Time in a Bottle," "You Don't Mess Around With Jim," and "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown," when he died in the crash of a light plane en route to his next concert. Jim Croce: Have You Heard - Jim Croce Live is a documentary assembled by Ingrid Croce and A.J. Croce, respectively the late singer's wife and son. The material is centered around live footage of Croce taped for several television shows before his death. Also included are interviews with friends and fellow musicians (including Randy Newman and Kenny Loggins), a rare duet performance from Jim and Ingrid Croce, an animated cartoon interpretation of " "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" created for The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour, and home movies of Jim at his farm.
