Jalachhayam is the first Indian film, & the second in world cinema, which was shot entirely on a camera phone in the Malayalam-language, produced and directed by Sathish Kalathil under the banner of 'The People's Films'. The film was released on a 35mm screen at Sree theatre in Thrissur on 2010 June 06. Its online release was held on 2nd October 2024 through Wikimedia and the incident, the releasing method is considered as the first in film releasing history in world cinema. Nokia N95 Music edition mobile phone was used entirely without the assistance of traditional or external camera lenses to film the movie.
