Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The immensely successful playwrighting team of Channing Pollock and Rennold Wolf were well represented by this adaptation of their Broadway hit The Dawn of Love. Set in a Maine fishing village, the story focuses on Jacqueline Allen (Mabel Taliaferro), the daughter of lighthouse keeper Miles Allen (Leslie M. Stowe). Left in charge of the lighthouse one dark evening, Jacqueline is accosted by local fisherman Ward Jennings (Martin J. Faust), who tries to force his attentions upon the girl. When she spurns him, he locks her in the keeper's cabin just outside the lighthouse then douses the beacon, certain that this will spell doom for Jacqueline's sweetheart, returning sailor John Lang (Robert Fraser). To save her boyfriend from certain death on the rocky shore, Jacqueline sets fire to the cabin, providing enough natural illumination to guide ten boats to safety. Just as the flames threaten to engulf the heroine, she is rescued by Lang, who proceeds to make short work of the villainous Jennings.
