One of the more entertaining of the later Hopalong Cassidy Westerns, Hoppy's Holiday spends quite a bit of footage on comic sidekick Andy Clyde, who easily runs away with the acting honors as well. The introduction of one of the first automobiles west of the Mississippi fits right into the Hoppy oeuvre, which, if nothing else, was always faithful to its historical time and setting without engaging in the gaucheries committed by other B-Western series. William Boyd, meanwhile, is his stalwart self and there are good supporting performances by Andrew Tombes as the befuddled mayor and Jeff Corey as a crooked hotel clerk.
