U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower wisely decided against mounting an invasion of communist Cuba. Kennedy, his successor, attempted to use exiled Cubans as his proxies in a 1961 infiltration known as the Bay of Pigs Invasion. This Cuban film blends newsreel shots and interviews with participants and reenactments to tell the story of this military fiasco from the Cuban point of view.
