This thirty-minute video highlights the life of Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winning author William Faulkner, who wrote a number of stories and novels about Southern life. Between 1929 and 1942 Faulkner rose as a literary giant with such novels as The Sound and the Fury, Go Down, Moses and The Wild Palms. His contemporaries included Sherwood Anderson and Ernest Hemingway. Faulkner was known for melodramatic violence in his stories, novels and screenplays.
