In this melodramatic confrontation of opposing economic classes, a new graduate from engineering school goes to a remote area to work in a cement factory and once there begins to mitigate against the mistreatment and exploitation of the factory's workers. His efforts and the condition of the workers lead to a strike, but the situation is kept from deteriorating even more (the owners of the factory plan to blow it up to collect the insurance) by a communist lawyer who comes to help the strikers, and by the workers' discovery of the owners' plot.
