Synopsis by Rebecca Flint Marx
Part of Channel Four's "Beckett on Film" series, playwright and screenwriter Conor McPherson's screen adaptation of Samuel Beckett's classic play sees Hamm (Michael Gambon), a blind and cantankerous old man, belittle Clov (David Thewlis), his increasingly resentful servant. Hamm's "accursed progenitors" (Charles Simon) and Jean Anderson) occasionally interject timid commentary from the sidelines, where they bide their time in trash bins.
