In this naturalistic horror story, Todd Witham and Harrison Coe play two brothers who have long had a stormy relationship. The brothers set out for a long hike through the wilderness of Vancouver Island, but they are soon confronted with a dark and mysterious supernatural force they don't know how to battle or control. Echo Lake was one of the first feature-length Canadian films to be shot on digital video equipment, which allowed the producers to work with a smaller crew and take greater advantage of the natural scenic qualities of their Northern Canadian locations.
