Set in an isolated area of Russia, the narrative follows Egor (Stepan Devonin) an animal-loving and human-fearing veterinarian, trying to form relationships with the family that employed him. Working with hunting dogs and foxes all day, Egor is trying to learn the art of human interaction while attempting to overcome the trauma of his abandonment from his family. As Egor seeks ways to become closer to the head of the family Nikolai (Dmitriy Podnozov), and his daughter Dasha (Jana Sekste), he believes he has found the family he never had.
