Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The old Augustus Thomas play Colorado was redressed as a movie vehicle for the versatile Hobart Bosworth. The star plays Thomas Doyle, a bookish Midwestern professor who heads to Colorado for the health of his tubercular wife Mary (Anna Lehr). Meanwhile, U.S. army private Frank Austin (Carl Von Schiller), escaping arrest for striking a superior officer, likewise makes a beeline to Colorado, where he becomes a prospector. Upon arriving in Denver, Doyle and his family are fleeced by crooked land speculator Kinkaid (Albert MacQuarrie) -- who happens to be the military officer responsible for Frank Austin's troubles. Austin eventually strikes gold on Doyle's property but is forced to keep his strike a secret by Kinkaid, who intends to buy back the land at dirt-cheap prices. To add to his perfidy, Kinkaid runs off with Doyle's now-cured wife. During the climactic fistic battle between Doyle and Kinkaid, it is the conscience-stricken Mrs. Doyle who puts a permanent end to Kinkaid's skullduggery.
