Before going any farther, we should note that the Jim Jordan afforded top billing in Chains is not the same actor who played the beloved radio character Fibber McGee (some sources spell the name "Jourdan"). That out of the way, we note that the film is set in Chicago, where gangland wars are (or, at least, were) a way of life. An innocent couple find themselves caught in the crossfire. These non-gang members are forced to accumulate some "street smarts" in a real hurry in order to survive. Not exactly art, Chains serves its purpose in terms of nonstop violent action.
