Three legendary figures of the American musical theater share songs and stories of their careers in this documentary. In the first part of the program, Fred Ebb and John Kander, the songwriting team whose best known work includes the shows Chicago and Cabaret, sit down at the piano and offer behind-the-scenes stories about their work, as well as play some of their favorite compositions. Later, playwright/lyricist Alan Jay Lerner offers insights into the art of writing for the theater while sharing songs from Gigi and My Fair Lady, among others.
