Review by Fred Beldin

Famous nerd Toby Radloff reprises his role as the psychopathic Harold Kunkel in this inexplicable sequel to 1991's Killer Nerd. The tone of the original has been retained, an uneasy mix of cruel comedy and gore staged with stiff non-actors. Radloff is remembered for his immortalization in Harvey Pekar's American Standard comics by some, and from a popular series of MTV promos in the late 80s by others. Here he's as creepy as ever, and there's still that feeling of catharsis in every terrible act he performs, a sense that this true-life misfit is exorcising some very real demons before our eyes. Bride of Killer Nerd is juvenile and mean-spirited, shot on video in Cleveland, Ohio and boasting a Troma-sized appetite for obnoxiousness. Despite a higher volume of cheap gross-out effects (some of which are genuinely sickening), Bride of Killer Nerd lacks the freshness of its predecessor, making it perfectly adequate as a sequel and a sure bet for certain tastes.
