When Abby (Mia Wasikowska) meets a beautiful blue grouper while on a dive, she develops a special connection with the fish. After she names him Blueback, the unlikely duo spends as much time together as possible. Abby learns that the fish may be in danger and decides to take on the local poachers herself. With a little help from her mom (Radha Mitchell), Abby gains the inspiration to try and save Blueback. Robert Connolly writes and directs the family drama based on the novel of the same name by Tim Winton.
