Based on the young adult novel Bright Burning Stars by A.K. Small, writer-director Sarah Adina Smith’s adaptation follows the frenemies situation between up-and-coming ballet dancers who belong to the same French ballet academy but are competing for a slot at the famed Opéra national de Paris. American tomboyish dancer Kate Sanders (Diana Silvers) finds her lower-class status a hindrance in fitting into this elite dancing world while the mysterious French girl Marine Durand (Kristine Froseth) tries to pursue her dreams despite dealing with her brother’s death. Co-starring Jacqueline Bisset.
