Synopsis
Moyers examines a NAFTA provision that enables corporations to seek compensation when laws or verdicts lower the value of their investments in signatory countries other than their own. "It challenges the power of government to protect its citizens," Moyers says of the provision, known as Chapter 11. Moyers examines two cases in which California and Mississippi are being sued by Canadian corporations, and one in which a U.S. corporation went after Mexico.
