Synopsis by Steve Blackburn
Hosted by Arlene Burns, this video features episode ten from the third season of the award-winning PBS television series. In this installment, dog sledding expert Arleigh Jorgensen gives Burns and viewers advice and demonstrations on how to dogsled the snowy expanses around Grand Marais, a town flanked to the southeast by Lake Superior, and on the north by Superior National Forest and various state forests which extend to the Canada border. A dog sledder for over 25 years, Arleigh has had ten money-winning finishes in 500-mile-long iditerods, or dog sled races, in Minnesota and Montana.
