Synopsis by Alice Day
Young students will get an idea of the extraordinary courage of the pioneers who blazed the Oregon Trail in this program. Using narration provided by children, and a child's perspective, the series offers dramatizations of actual events occurring in the 19th century. In American History for Kids: The Oregon Trail, a young girl and her family travel from Tennessee to Oregon, braving unknown dangers as they slowly made their way across the country. The settlement of the West came about due to efforts on the parts of thousands of pioneers who left their homes and farms behind to seek new lands.
