Desperate Moves is a harmless, brainless, and for the most part, humorless exercise in early '80s teen comedy schlock -- save for one hilarious and inspired performance by Christopher Lee. Apart from the horror master's genius small role, there are a few other hot points in the production, namely the wicked roller-skating scenes and of course, Eddie Deezen. Yes, Isabel Sanford also makes an appearance, but her role is little to nothing and is small potatoes when it comes to the few highlights of the flick. To be sure, the main reason to see this is Lee's sidesplitting role. While not usually known for his comedic talents, the former Prince of Darkness is over-the-top and seemingly loving it as the mysterious Mr. Boxer. Seek out any copies you can find if you're a Lee fan, because it's this kind of discovery that makes weeding through all the bottom-of-the-video-barrel stinkers worth it.
