Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Constance Binney starred in the stage version of this story (written by Rachel Crothers) before playing the same character in the motion picture. Penelope Penn (Binney) is a minister's daughter from a small town who -- like every small town girl in motion pictures -- comes to New York to make her way in life. She moves into a boarding house which is loaded with gossipy characters. The one exception is Napoleon Gibbs (Reginald Denny), a nice young man who comes to love her. Penelope has a hard time earning a living and winds up working as a chorus girl, causing a lot of talk amongst the boarders. But the theatrical manager, who everyone believes is a wolf, is actually the one who facilitates the union between Penelope and Napoleon.
