Biography by AllMovie

Not to be confused with actor Tom B. Forman (1891-1951), Texas-born writer/director Tom Forman reached the pinnacle of his career directing the second screen version of Owen Wister's The Virginian (1924) for producer B.P. Schulberg. Little more than a year later, however, Forman was washed up and could only obtain work on cheap poverty row action melodramas. The consequences proved dire: on the evening of November 7, 1926, Tom Forman shot himself through the heart at his parents' home in Venice, CA. He was a first cousin of silent screen star Madge Bellamy (1899-1990).
