Though best known as a screenwriter, Rafael J. Salvia directed several Spanish films from the early '50s through the early '70s. Before entering the film industry, Salvia earned a law degree and worked as a journalist. In film, he first collaborated on scripts with Ignacio Iquino. In 1952, Salvia made his directorial debut with Concierto Mágico/Magical Concert. In 1974, he ventured into television when he directed an episode of Cuentos y Leyendas/Tales and Legends (1974).
