Biography by AllMovie

Part of '70s Poland's "cinema of moral unrest," filmmaker Feliks Falk is best known for two satirical social comedies, both employing the same protagonist. The first, Wodzirej/Top Dog (1978), starred comedian Jerzy Stuhr as Danielak, a young man who goes to extremes to land himself a job in his small hometown. The sequel Bohater Roku/Hero of the Year followed Danielak (again played by Stuhr) as he vainly tries to manipulate a newly installed official. Falk originally studied painting at Warsaw's Academy of Fine Arts and graduated in 1966. In 1974, he graduated from the Lodz Film School with a specialty in film direction and shortly thereafter joined Andrzej Wajda's "X" Production Unit. Falk made his directorial debut with Obrazki z Zycia/Pictures From a Life (1975).
