Biography by AllMovie

Dick Jones directed numerous short comedies for Mack Sennett in the late teens, guiding such popular comics as Chester Conklin (It Pays to Exercise), Edgar Kennedy (The Great Vacuum Robbery), Polly Moran (Her Painted Hero), and Ben Turpin (The Battle Royal). He began helming features at the end of the teens, and while continuing with comedy, such as the transvestite World War I spoof Yankee Doodle in Berlin and the Mabel Normand vehicles Suzanna and The Extra Girl, he also proved himself at adventure with The Gaucho starring Douglas Fairbanks. His last film was also his only talkie, the mystery Bulldog Drummond with Ronald Colman.
