Composer and bandleader Calvin Jackson worked for MGM as an assistant musical director to George Stoll on such films as Meet Me in St. Louis and The Unsinkable Molly Brown. A native of Philadelphia, Jackson has studied music in New York and at Julliard. Just prior to hooking up with MGM, he had his own band. In the '50s, he founded a jazz band and began touring, recording, and composing.
