Corpulent character actor Albert Gran launched his screen career in 1916. A master at portraying self-indulgent grotesques, Gran moved effortlessly from peasant characterizations to aristocratic roles. He was seen as Duke Travina in Marion Davies' Beverly of Graustark (1926), Paul Boul in Fox's Seventh Heaven (1927) and sugar daddy B. Bickering Brown in MGM's Our Modern Maidens (1929). Albert Gran died in an auto accident at the age of 61.
