Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Dimitri (Christopher Nezer) is the Youth of Athens in this Greek production. The time is WW II: Hating the occupying Nazis troops with deadly intensity, Dmitri joins the Greek resistance movement. Arrested after a raid on a German supply depot, Dmitri is subjected to brutal treatment by his captors, as are the members of his family. Curiously, the boy's plight fails to elicit sympathy from the audience, due in part to director Pakis Batapoulos' low-key approach to his material. A cursory romance is inserted in the proceedings involving Dmitri's sister (Elli Lambeti) and a Red Cross worker.
