The German black comedy Wir Sagen Du! Schatz (aka Family Rules) offers an unconventional take on family values. Written and directed by Marc Meyer, the film centers on lonely thirtysomething Oliver (Samuel Finzi), who decides to ease his solitude by kidnapping random strangers (including a bored housewife, a couple of disgruntled kids, and an elderly couple), holding them hostage in an abandoned apartment building, and forcing them to form a makeshift family.
