Synopsis by Mark Deming

A private eye looking for a former love dives head first into crime and the Eastern European porn market in this black comedy from director Vinko Bresan. Martin (Ivan Herceg) spent several years as a sniper during the Croatian war, and these days he makes his living as a private detective, using the same combination of patience, steel nerves and willingness to kill that marked his old career. Martin is watching a Serbian porn video one evening when he's startled to realize he recognizes the leading lady as Desa (Nada Sargin), a woman he was infatuated with years before. Martin wants to track her down, and for help he turns to Duro (Predrag Vusovic), a Gypsy porn star who knows the business well. Duro and Martin find Desa in Belgrade, where she's fallen on hard times and works as a prostitute; her pimp is willing to turn her over to Martin for a price, so Martin uses his criminal connections to raise the cash and brings Desa home with him. Desa assumes Martin simply wants to use her for sex, and it takes him a while to persuade her that his interests are benevolent; in the meantime, a handful of Martin's army buddies (Voja Bajovic, Drazen Kuhn and Leon Lucev) are now part of a crime syndicate, and they want to draft Martin into helping them with a less-than-legal enterprise. Nije Kraj (translated as Will Not Stop There and Will Not End Here) earned five prizes, including the Audience Award, at Croatia's 2008 Pula Film Festival.
